CDB Aviation, the Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Limited, has announced the successful delivery of two Embraer E190-100LR aircraft to its new customer, the French regional airline Regourd Aviation S.A.S., which operates under the brands Amelia and Amelia International.
Amelia, based in France, is known for its diverse operations, including ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) leasing, charter flights and medical evacuation services. The airline continues to expand its fleet in line with a broader growth strategy aimed at increasing operational capacity and improving efficiency across its services.
The delivery of the E190s is part of a finance lease agreement and marks the beginning of a new collaboration between CDB Aviation and Amelia. These aircraft are intended to serve as a bridge between Amelia's smaller regional aircraft and its larger Airbus A319s, allowing the airline to better match aircraft size to route demand.
The Embraer E190s are also expected to contribute to Amelia's sustainability efforts. When compared with the airline's existing Embraer 145s, the E190s are projected to reduce carbon emissions per seat kilometre by approximately 30%, offering a more environmentally friendly solution for short- and medium-haul operations.
Amelia plans to introduce the newly delivered aircraft into service by the beginning of the summer season. The acquisition aligns with its goal of fleet modernisation and reflects its commitment to reducing environmental impact while expanding service offerings across its European network.
