KlasJet boosts Nigeria’s Air Peace capacity with Boeing 737

KlasJet, a Avia Solutions Group subsiduary, has signed an agreement with Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline. Under the contract, KlasJet will provide Air Peace with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The dual-configured aircraft will support the airline in delivering scheduled passenger and charter services more efficiently.

Air Peace operates one of the largest and most diverse fleets in the region, including Boeing 737s, Embraer E195-E2s and widebody Boeing 777s for long-haul operations. The airline currently has a fleet of 29 aircraft serving 20 destinations on a regular basis.

The requirement for additional aircraft highlights the rapid growth of the Nigerian and West African aviation markets. According to IATA, air traffic in Africa is projected to grow by 7% in 2025 and by 6% in 2026, with Central and West Africa among the fastest-growing subregions.

According to Augustinas Riskus, KlasJet’s Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, Nigeria in particular, and Africa more broadly, offer significant potential for ACMI providers. Nigeria’s economy is among the fastest-growing on the continent, with the aviation sector contributing US$2.5 billion to the country’s GDP and supporting 217,000 jobs.

“We believe that the ACMI model is well-suited for the African market, as it allows carriers to test out new routes and expand fleets without the additional financial burden of ownership. In fact, it can even help airlines increase their profitability by 2-3 percentage points. Therefore, we try to increase our presence in the region each year. Nigeria is the most populous African country with an enormous economic potential. We hope to contribute to this growth and continue our cooperation with Air Peace in the future seasons,” he says.
