JSX to launch ATR operations in 2025

Texas-based public charter airline JSX has announced plans to commence operations with ATR aircraft in late 2025, marking a major step in its expansion across the United States. The carrier will lease two ATR 42-600s to extend its popular hop-on service to more private terminals, Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) and underserved airports nationwide.

The new ATR operations will be backed by a comprehensive ATR Global Maintenance Agreement, ensuring maximum aircraft reliability and availability. The partnership represents ATR's first entry into the growing U.S. public charter market, leveraging the aircraft's superior performance, lower operating costs, and reduced noise levels to unlock new route opportunities.

The ATR 42-600s will be configured with 30 spacious premium seats, part of ATR's HighLine cabin collection. Passengers can expect business-class legroom, complimentary gourmet snacks, cocktails, and the addition of Starlink high-speed internet connectivity, pending certification.

This announcement sets the stage for further growth, as JSX has signed a letter of intent for up to 25 ATR aircraft – 15 firm orders with options for ten more – including the ATR 42-600s and all-business-class ATR 72-600s, both with 30 premium seats.

Alex Wilcox, CEO of JSX, highlighted the strategic impact of the move: “The ATR -600 series will bring over 1,000 new airports into reach for JSX, expanding access to reliable public charter flights across the great United States. Many of these airports were, until now, reserved only for those who had the means to fly private.”
