REGENT Craft (Regent), an innovator in all-electric seaglider technology, has announced an expansion of its partnership with UrbanLink Air Mobility (UrbanLink), a South Florida-based company specialising in advanced air and maritime mobility solutions. UrbanLink has increased its order of REGENT's flagship Viceroy seagliders from 27 to 47, making it one of the largest commercial seaglider orders to date.
This expanded order reinforces UrbanLink's commitment to transforming coastal transportation in the United States, with a focus on Florida and Puerto Rico. Deliveries of the new Viceroy seagliders are expected to commence in 2027, supporting UrbanLink's strategy to rapidly scale operations across key coastal markets. The decision to increase the fleet highlights growing demand for sustainable, high-speed alternatives to conventional short-haul air travel, particularly in congested regions.
REGENT's Viceroy seaglider is a fully electric wing-in-ground-effect vehicle, designed to operate just above the water's surface, combining the speed of an aircraft with the affordability and convenience of a boat. The technology offers zero-emissions travel over coastal routes, dramatically reducing both travel time and environmental impact.
With operations based in Miami, UrbanLink aims to serve up to 4.3 million passengers annually, offering frequent and efficient services between heavily trafficked coastal hubs. The expanded fleet will enable UrbanLink to enhance connectivity between Florida and neighbouring territories, including Puerto Rico, positioning the state as a frontrunner in next-generation coastal mobility.
