The Embraer E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft, renowned for their fuel efficiency and low noise emissions, have officially received type acceptance certification from the Mongolian Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA). This approval marks a significant step toward introducing the next-generation E-Jets E2 family into Mongolia's expanding aviation sector.
The certification follows a comprehensive evaluation process conducted by the MCAA, which confirmed compliance with international aviation standards. These aircraft have already been certified by other leading authorities, including the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Brazil's ANAC, Singapore's CAAS and China's CAAC, demonstrating their global reliability and performance.
This development enhances opportunities for Embraer to support Mongolian airlines in modernising their fleets and expanding regional connectivity. With increasing interest in sustainable and efficient aircraft, the E2 jets are expected to play a pivotal role in meeting the evolving needs of Mongolia's domestic and international air travel.
Embraer has maintained a presence in the country since 2018, when the ERJ 145 entered service with Aero Mongolia. The following year, Hunnu Air, Mongolia's largest private airline, added two E190s to its fleet to serve key routes across the region. In 2023, Hunnu Air further expanded its network with direct services between Ulaanbaatar and Beijing Daxing, operated by Embraer E-Jets.
The recent certification underscores Embraer's commitment to strengthening its partnership with Mongolian carriers and contributing to the nation's aviation growth with modern, environmentally conscious aircraft.
