AFI KLM E&M signs LEAP-engine deal with CFM

Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has signed an agreement with CFM International to purchase up to ten spare LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. These engines will bolster AFI KLM E&M's comprehensive portfolio of LEAP premier maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO), supporting airline customers worldwide by maintaining operational continuity while their primary engines are serviced.

This agreement highlights the growing demand for highly efficient and reliable engines, such as the LEAP, to maximise aircraft availability and utilisation. The first spare engine is scheduled for delivery in 2025, further enhancing AFI KLM E&M's MRO offerings. In addition to existing quick-turn, performance restoration, and on-wing support services, the spare engines will act as a vital reserve for rapid replacements, minimising aircraft downtime for customers.

AFI KLM E&M serves as a premier MRO provider for LEAP engines within CFM's open MRO ecosystem. This network includes CFM's internal maintenance capabilities and a diverse array of service providers, such as airline shops and independent MROs, designed to meet increasing global demand for engine maintenance and support.

By adding spare LEAP engines to its portfolio, AFI KLM E&M reaffirms its commitment to delivering innovative and reliable solutions for its airline partners, ensuring optimal performance and operational efficiency.
