Emirates SkyCargo has announced an order for five additional Boeing 777 Freighters, further expanding its fleet of the twin-engine aircraft. This latest order, which was finalised in September, brings Emirates' total Boeing wide-body aircraft orders to 249, including 14 of the 777 Freighters.
The new acquisition builds on Emirates SkyCargo's earlier purchase of five 777 Freighters, signalling the cargo division's commitment to expanding its capacity as it adapts to increasing global demand. Currently operating 11 freighters, Emirates SkyCargo plans to nearly double this number to a fleet of 21 freighters in the coming years. The airline is enhancing its ability to provide global cargo services by boosting the number of aircraft available for long-range cargo operations.
The Boeing 777 Freighter is renowned for its efficiency, range and capacity, making it an ideal choice for Emirates SkyCargo as it continues to expand its reach in international markets. The aircraft can carry large payloads over vast distances, offering the flexibility needed to meet the demands of global cargo customers. Emirates' growing freighter fleet is set to play a key role in supporting the airline's cargo operations and increasing its presence in major cargo hubs around the world.
