Gulfstream G400 successfully completes first flight

The all-new Gulfstream G400 has successfully completed its first flight, marking the official launch of its flight test programme, reported Gulfstream Aerospace. This milestone further expands Gulfstream's next-generation family of ultramodern, high-technology aircraft. The G400 sets a new benchmark in the segment, delivering unmatched performance and comfort.

The G400 took off from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport at 9:04 a.m. and completed a 2-hour, 54-minute flight, reaching a speed of Mach 0.85 and an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,497 meters). The aircraft operated using a blend of sustainable aviation fuel sourced from Gulfstream's Savannah campus, underscoring the company's commitment to environmental responsibility.

The G400 boasts class-leading performance and efficiency, combining Gulfstream's advanced aerodynamic clean-wing design with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812GA engines and cutting-edge avionics. Capable of flying 4,200 nautical miles (7,778 kilometres) at Mach 0.85, the G400 is equipped with the award-winning symmetry flight deck and predictive landing performance system, enhancing flight safety and pilot situational awareness. The aircraft also features the advanced high-speed wing and winglet design first introduced on the Gulfstream G500 and G600, which significantly improves efficiency.

Customers can choose from three floorplans, accommodating nine, 11, or 12 passengers and benefit from the signature Gulfstream Cabin Experience. The G400 provides 100% fresh, non-recirculated air purified by a plasma ionization clean air system, the lowest cabin altitude in its class, and abundant natural light from ten Gulfstream panoramic oval windows.
