StandardAero has expanded its service capabilities for the CFM56-7B engine platform by introducing a new exchange engine solution, enhancing support for Boeing 737 Next Generation (737NG) customers worldwide. This move aims to maximise aircraft availability, especially for operators seeking swift and reliable alternatives to full engine overhauls.
A well-established independent provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services, StandardAero already holds OEM authorisation for full MRO on the CFM56-7B, operating from two overhaul and test facilities in North America. The addition of exchange services brings an efficient option for airlines, lessors and other aircraft asset owners. The model allows customers to receive a serviceable CFM56-7B turbofan engine with significant remaining life, in exchange for their unserviceable unit. This solution eliminates the downtime associated with traditional MRO timelines and offers a more flexible route to returning aircraft to service quickly.
StandardAero brings significant experience in exchange programmes from other engine platforms and has now transferred that expertise to the CFM56-7B engine. One recent example saw the company complete an exchange with India-based Stellar Aviation Solutions, delivering a warrantied CFM56-7B26/3 engine
